Who do you think you are?
Migration and identity in Rathlin, Ballycastle and the Glens
This video talk by Martin McDowell from the North of Ireland Family Historical Society explores one of the ways DNA testing can be used to investigate family history beyond the ‘brick wall’ of the early 19th century. It explains the advantages of DNA projects with a geographic focus and explores how they can be used to celebrate community identity, as well as the cultural tourism benefits they bring.
This project has been supported by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and The Executive Office, through the Together: Building a United Community, District Council’s Good Relations Programme.
