This project by Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust gathers lesser-known histories along the Causeway Coast together into an interactive digital resources.

Breaking Ireland’s prehistoric past into bite-sized chunks, this project allows users to listen to a twelve-part series recorded with Coleraine and District Talking News.

From mythological princesses, to medieval sites, the tyrants of folklore, and modern monarchs, the Causeway Coast and Glens abounds with royal connections. Working with groups across the borough, Museum Services has created a heritage trail that links together the many locations with a royal tale to tell.

Strings of Heaven is an original composition released by local harp players to celebrate 1500 years since the birth of Colmcille.

Inspired by Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee year, Museum Services delivering a programme of talks presented by specialist speakers and covering a variety of royal topics covering archaeology, genealogy, imperialism and contemporary social and political issues.

This project combined archaeology, social history and emerging technologies to explore an enigmatic royal figure carved over 2000 years ago which once looked over Ballycastle harbour.

The Accessible Heritage project was developed in partnerships with Glenshane Care Association and RNIB Coleraine between 2017 and 2020 to increase accessibility to the heritage of the Causeway Coast and Glens and allow people with additional needs and young families to make informed decisions about their visits.

The Mountsandel Discovery and Heritage Group have produced information panels and an illustrated book, The Salmon People, inspired by what life may have been like at the Mountsandel Mesolithic site.

Portrush Heritage Group’s geophysical survey of Antrim Gardens, Portrush which complimented the findings of the 2005 excavation.
