“We’d get maybe 5p or a shilling, maybe it wasn’t a shilling, it was thruppence or something, but me and Ronan, who was me younger brother, to go down to the pictures every Saturday morning. Una McAuley was the usherette and Therese Morton was on the door and you’d go into Brennan’s to get your sweets and then you’d go into the pictures […] I mean obviously they weren’t new releases then, but they would kinda put on a load of old films on a Saturday morning, so we watched all of them.”
