Harriet Hamilton (12/11/24) notes that her grandfather James Barton (no.60) had worked as an apprentice cobbler at Scarlett’s where they were contracted to make boots for the army.

JMcC research states Sam Galloway and Archie McAuley worked at Scarlett’s for many years and the shop closed in 1968. At Christmas time there was always a track with moving train in the window as their display.
