Until 1907, the property layouts of nos. 27 and 29 Castle Street were different, occupied by a single-story thatched building along the street (at times subdivided), with a thatched outbuilding in yard. The current buildings were constructed in 1907, and no.29 subdivided, here shown as a) and b). The outbuilding remained in place until sometime between 1935 and 1969. HB05/15/004.
