Rathlin Writing Festival

“No matter who would come to this festival […], there was two things that had to happen. One, it had to be somewhere, sort of, in isolation, hence Rathlin was the obvious choice […] that you would bring so many writers to the island that wouldn’t be on it normally […], they would fall in love with the place and would return as visitors. But the other thing was that no-one coming to that festival would ever feel like an outsider […] And so we ran our first festival and I suppose to date, that’s our biggest claim to fame.”
