OSM IX vol.24 (p.125) notes a “date stone taken from the castle is said to be placed in a fire hearth, or rather in front of a kitchen grate, in a house erected 1743 on the north side of the street, and now [October 1838] occupied by John McCambridge, but the lettered side of this stone is turned beneath.” This date stone may be the one built into the wall of Holy Trinity church yard. |
