Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council wants to celebrate the area’s most notable sons and daughters.

Delivered by Museum Services, the project is part of a wider programme to mark the centenary of Northern Ireland. Members of the public can get involved by nominating individuals whose achievements over the last 100 years are worthy of recognition.

An initial deadline for nominations has been extended to March 26th 2021. This will be the final opportunity for members of the public to have their say.

‘Famous Sons and Daughters of the Causeway Coast and Glens’ can come from any field, including sport, arts, sciences, community service or politics. If they were born or lived within the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough and made a positive impact to people’s lives, we want to showcase their achievements.

Whether you want to put forward a much-loved community midwife, a dedicated teacher, a respected politician or the stars of a local sporting team, you can have your say and help to ensure the project highlights the very best of our Borough over the last century.

Please email your nominations to cms@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk and include the following details:

  • Your name

  • Your email address or phone number

  • Name of person/persons you wish to nominate

  • Their Date of Birth (if known)

  • Their Date of Death (if known or applicable)

  • Details about their links to the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area (were they born here, do they live here now etc)

  • Details about the achievement that you want to see recognised.

Nominations will close Friday 26th March 2021.
