Robert Knox Hezlet

Photograph of Robert Knox Hezlet, of the Hezlet's of Bovagh. He joined the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich in 1898. He was promoted captain in 1907 when he passed through Advanced Class Ordnance College. After two years as instructor in the Artillery Ordnance College, he was promoted major in 1914. From 1915 until 1916 he served in France and in Mesopotamia. He was mentioned twice in dispatches and was awarded the D.S.O. In the period 1916 until 1920 he was a member of the Ordnance Committee.
