Harbourmaster William Mann

This photograph shows Portrush Harbourmaster William Mann (c. 1836-1904) in the late 19th century. This old family photograph was submitted to the project by Norman Parkes and shows his great grandfather William seated in front of a boat being launched at the harbour’s beach. The boat was named ‘Caravogue’. This photograph ws originally uncovered in the records of one of William Mann’s descendants, who had emigrated to the USA in the early 1900s, the lady seated beside William is his wife, Mary Rafferty of Coleraine.
