‘Growing up in Portrush’
Do you have quirky artefacts, memorabilia or photographs that remind you of your childhood in Portrush?
We would love you to share them at our first ever pop up museum at Portrush Town Hall, where they will be displayed throughout the Swell Festival for everyone to enjoy. The artefacts will be photographed and added to the Northern Ireland Community Archive website creating an online exhibition.
How it will work…
- Bring your item to the Girvan Room in Portrush Town Hall between 10am and 1pm on Saturday 5th October or between 9am and 10am on Sunday 6th October.
- We will complete a loan form and write a short label to place alongside your artefact.
- The exhibition will be open to the public from 2pm – 5pm on Saturday 5th October and 10am – 5pm on Sunday 6th October.
- Artefacts must be collected from the Girvan Room at 5pm on Sunday 6th October.
- With the owners permission, the artefacts will be photographed and details recorded and uploaded onto the NI Archive website, creating an online exhibition for people to enjoy.
- Smaller items would be preferred as we only have small box cases but larger items can be placed on open display with the owners permission.
- A volunteer or Museum staff member will be with the exhibition at all times.
