At Lemon Bridge in Sicily, July 1943, Fusilier Thomas James Moore from Dungiven was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery – he was with the 2nd Inniskilling Fusiliers at the time. His story was featured in the VICTOR comic front page under the heading “a true story of Men at War’ published on 23rd Sept 1978. Roe Valley Ancestral Researchers were given permission by D.C. THOMPSON & CO to publish the original artwork.
