An exciting free event at Coleraine Town Hall next month plans to bring history to life through food!

Join Museum Services for a culinary adventure and drop in to Coleraine Museum @ Coleraine Town Hall on Saturday 7th February, anytime between 1pm and 3pm. Visitors will be able to pop by and taste free samples of dishes from the past, and learn more about what ingredients and recipes were enjoyed by our ancestors. Samples will be prepared by respected cook, food stylist and writer Erin Bunting, aka The Edible Flower. Erin attended the prestigious Ballymaloe Cookery School and is passionate about using food as a lens to explore the world around us, our culture and society, and as a way of bringing communities together for fun and feasting!

Visitors will also be able to enjoy the ‘Irish History Starts Here’ Exhibition on display, which delves into the history of Coleraine through the centuries, exploring objects from Coleraine Museum’s collection. A free children’s play area, including dress up and crafts, will also be available during this event.

Samples are likely to contain nuts so will not be suitable for those with a nut allergy. A lift, toilet and baby changing facilities are located onsite.

Coleraine Town Hall is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 11am to 4pm (closed Bank Holidays). The ‘Irish History Starts Here’ exhibition is on display until Saturday 28th February.
