Gail Mahon – The building has stood at Portrush’s East Strand since the 1920s when it was built by local business man R.A. Chalmers. Through the years it has served as a café, ballroom and dancehall to most recent times, continues its social space for weddings, classes in yoga and local art exhibitions. The jukebox exterior and ‘Buddy Holly’ style glasses captures the Big Band fever of the dancehall fifties and wraps up the past and present inside this flirtatious film box.
