Town Hall Bell

This bell was cast by the order of the Corporation of Coleraine in 1829 by Hugh Lyle mayor and Beresford Esq Chamberlain. T Mears, London, now known as the Whitechapel Foundry, famous for making the original Liberty Bell 1751 and later Big Ben 1859, cast the bell in bronze nearly four feet high and three feet in diameter, almost two thirds the size of Big Ben.
