Songs of the People article of a tonic sol-fa notation and words to song titled, 'No. 716 - A Shamrock From Tiree'. Tiree, i.e. Tir Aodh, Hugh's Land, is the local name for Tirhugh, near Swateragh. The song was composed by James O'Kane, Gortanure, Maghera, when in New Jersey, on receiving shamrocks from Tiree, Swateragh, for St. Patrick's Day, 1858. Mentions harpist Rory Dall.
