There are extracts from the Belfast Newsletter of 1737 about the selling of rabbit skins at the house of Thomas Blair and About the oath of allegiance being administered at the parish church by Conolly McCausland and the Rev John Torrens. Mont-Salut, a hotel, run by Miss Tompkins opened in 1776. Several inhabitants are named in connection with raising money for the church building.
