One of 2 pages of handwritten letter from James to his father. Went into trenches on Good Friday and and just out - "a very bad week". Mentions "hot times in Ireland" - all letters being delivered have been censored. War is bad but if gets home "God Pity them fenian Rascals". All leave stopped for Irish troops. Worried not knowing exactly what is happening at home and effect on brothers William and especially Sandy.
