Moyle – Ballycastle, The Net Green

This is the place where the salmon nets were hung on posts to dry out. Out of season the broad beamed salmon boats were stored on the green also. The boats were turned upside down on the grass and the tar used to heat up in the sun. Captain Black, myself and other children used to race snails down the hot tar.
