Milk Strainer

Milk strainer. Appearence of a wooden dish but with no bottom. A deep track is grooved around lower edge and this was to enable the housewife to tie a muslin strainer across the base. Wooden strainers were superceeded by tin strainers and the more recent models are plastic with nylon gauze. Courtesy of Ballycastle Museum.
