Handwritten letter to 'My Dear John'. (folded and written on three sides on mourning paper with black edging). End of letter missing. Mentions the sale of Rushbrooke and farm; house built by William Stewart, Blacksmith, near Garvagh and a second house improved by James MacDowell in Ballyquin. He has a mortgage on the latter house of £100. Asks John to give advice to Macauley in Coleraine on matter re property. He is willing to accept £4000 for the sale of Rushbrooke than it go auction. Mentions houses on Bridge Street and wishes to sell the house in Portrush which is tennanted by Miss Avery for £20. Writes that he is no good with property matters.
