Handwritten letter (double sided) to Sam. Writes that he has not had any contact with 'Sandelford' or 'Coleraine'. He heard that Sam was quite unwell but that he is on the mend. Tells Sam to 'relax'. Writes that Maimie's garden must look well and Olive 'looking after other people's money'. He has lost his sight in his right eye and the left eye is getting worse. Mr Frank McLaughlin may be able to restore some sight back into the right eye via an operation. Has been given two pairs of glasses. Mentions Herbet Quinn, as chartered accountant in Belfast who is completely blind. Refers to Andy Fletcher who is 'getting on very well' as a solicitor. Asks Sam for the origin on the word 'furnenst' and the use of the word 'clergy' in the church. Hopes the 'Liken Dynasty' are well.
