Carbon copy of typed letter to Mrs Flanders. Sam had sent a report on 'The Star Spangled Banner' to the Library of Congress one year ago. Having not heard from them he tells Mrs Flanders to sell the article to the Press as her own to try and get it publicity. Encloses photograph of the man who told him the story of the song and two of himself. Sam has been lecturing to the Troops and acting as Guide to Americans. Says he has little time for song collecting [due to the war].
