Article cut from a newspaper, the Evening Standard, Saturday, December. Titled, 'Ulster Military News, M.C. For Canon Ross, Bangor Officer Gassed, New Military Medallists'. Major the Rev. Canon A.E. Ross, rector of St.Patrick's Church, Ballymena and who served as chaplain to His Majesty's Forces was awarded the Military Cross for rescuing wounded under heavy fire. He was curate of St.Anne's Church, Belfast and rector of Portrush and Ballymena in 1912. He was son in law of Colonel J.K. Hezlet, Aghadowey and his brother in law, Lieutenant Colonel R.K. Hezlet.
