Anne and Philip Kennedy cut their wedding cake

Anne and Philip Kennedy got married in 1974 at Dunseverick Parish Church. They had a reception at the Skerry Bhan Hotel and the cake was made by Osbourne's in Coleraine. The white heather on the cake was for good luck. The first tier of the cake was kept, as was traditional, for Anne's first baby's christening. But Anne and Philip were not to have any children. Anne's wedding bouquets were also kept to lay on the graves of her loved ones. Anne had worked at the Skerry Bhan Hotel and got them to do her reception for £1 2s per head.
