Addressed to Mr McCrory from Rodney Parker. Sent from 96 Wingrove Road, Newcastle 'on' Tyne and dated 11.12.1942. Writes that he has just returned from Tunisia after being interned for 3 months and that he would like to express his deepest sympathy for the loss of Bill. Explains that he was 2nd Radio Officer and a good friend of Bills. He then goes on to describe the ship being torpedoed and everyone having to abandon ship - Bill was picked up after an hour and passed away shortly after. He had to be buried at sea as the lifeboat he was in was full and there were still people calling for help.
