Over the last year, participants on the Accessible Heritage programme have been on a pretty amazing journey. We’ve visited sites across the Causeway Coast and Glens area. We have definitely faced a few challenges along the way, but by-and-large, our group has found many sites more accessible than expected.

Before and after each visit, the participants filled out a questionnaire, evaluating their expectations and existing knowledge of the heritage sites. After wandering and pondering each location, the group sat down again to discuss their experiences. The feedback from these sessions is being fed (along with the feedback from Glenshane Care Association) into the two project outputs – the Accessible Heritage guide – in both written and audio formats – and the accessibility report for site managers.
