Capture the Moment – Faces and Places of the 2017 North West 200

Causeway Coast and Glens Museum Service invites professional, amateur and budding photographers alike to help us take a snapshot of race week for the North West 200 in 2017. Competition entries will be exhibited in Ballymoney Museum 19th June – 26th August and then stored in the Museum Service archives as a captured moment in time.

There will be three categories for entries based on the age of the photographer:
·         Under 8s
·         Under 18s
·         Open category

A panel of judges with award prizes to the winning photograph from each category, and visitors to the museum will be able to vote for their overall favourite photo which will be awarded the People’s Choice prize.

Prizes have been generously donated by Waterstone’s Coleraine, Snappy Snaps Coleraine, Causeway Coast Rentals, with a winners pack for the People’s Choice winner from the Vauxhall International North West 200.

Entries are limited to two photographs per entrant. All images are to be sent digitally to cms@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk by 5pm on the 28th May, 2017. Emails need to provide the following information:Terms and Conditions:
The theme of the North West 200 is open to interpretation of the photographers. However, entries should relate in some way to race and its impact on the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough area. Only images taken during race week (Sunday 7th May – Sunday 14th May) 2017 will be accepted.

·         Name of photographer
·         Contact address of photographer
·         Category of entry (Under 8, Under 18, Open)
·         Date of photo
·         Place photograph taken

Images will ideally have a resolution of 600 dpi. Images with a resolution below 300 dpi will not be accepted.

By submitting images to the competition, entrants are conferring image use rights to the Museum Service of the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. The Museum Service will print images for the purpose of the exhibiting entries in Ballymoney Museum and retains the right to use the images for future use within Causeway Coast and Glens Museums, for educational use, for publications, for the preparation of, and use in, exhibitions and displays, and to be uploaded onto the Northern Ireland Archive website. The Museum Service reserves the right not to exhibit images that are deemed inappropriate.
